DEEPSEEK-V3
🤖 China’s new AI model beats competitors
Evolving AI: DeepSeek, a company in China, just launched its strongest AI model yet that competes with top private models.
Key Points:
DeepSeek-V3 has 671 billion parameters and is great at solving tough problems.
It processes 60 tokens per second, which is three times faster than the older version.
Tests show it beats other open models and rivals private ones.
Details:
DeepSeek-V3 is setting a new standard for open-source AI in China. With its Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) design, it has 671 billion parameters, of which 37 billion are active at a time. This leap from V2’s 236 billion parameters shows major progress. Trained on 14.8 trillion tokens using 2,000 GPUs, it delivered strong results in math and coding benchmarks like MATH 500. Training cost $5.6 million and took 2.8 million GPU hours — a fraction of what top private models require. DeepSeek-V3 competes with leading private systems like GPT-4o while keeping prices low through February. The license allows widespread use but excludes military and automated legal applications.
Why It Matters:
DeepSeek-V3 proves that open-source AI can keep up with private models without huge costs. With 2025 around the corner, we’re likely to see open-source models not just catching up but possibly overtaking private models in key areas.
Evolving AI: Sam Altman talks about how AI is being used every day and what the future might bring.
Key Points:

He explains how AI search is faster and easier than old search engines.
Altman believes super-smart AI will be here by 2026 and says humans will still be creative and important
Details:
AI is becoming a big part of our lives, says Sam Altman from OpenAI. In a recent interview, he shared that tools like ChatGPT are being used by lots of people really quickly. Altman himself uses AI to search for things because it’s faster and better than regular search engines. He thinks that in just a few years, AI will become super intelligent. Even with all this tech, Altman believes people’s creativity and teamwork will always matter. He imagines a future where AI helps us do more and grow as a society.
Why It Matters:
AI is becoming a huge part of how we live and work. It’s changing how we search for info and solve problems. Superintelligence AI could bring big opportunities, but it also makes us think about how humans will fit into an AI-driven world.
